Women in Road Safety, an initiative of the Automobile Association of Namibia (AAN) and the MVA Fund, was established in 23 April 2016
Our mandate to actively and positively influence society on road safety and safe driver behaviour and to emphasise on the role women can play in the reduction of road carnage in Namibia.
It is our goal to strive for safety on our roads to help reduce the loss and pain experienced as a result of accidents.
The initiative is guided by a steering committee of ladies who are dedicated to raising awareness of road safety issues and educating new and established drivers about safe driving. Many of the members are in one way or another involved in the automotive industry, but membership of Women in Road Safety is open to all women throughout Namibia.
Women in Road Safety Forum
The WiRSF is a non-profit association incorporated under Section 21 (21/2022/0362) and was established as an initiative of the Automobile Association of Namibia (AAN), in April 2016.
The Forum is mandated to influence society actively and positively on road safety and safe driver behaviour and emphasizes on the role women can play in the reduction of road carnage in Namibia. The goal is to strive for safety on our roads to help reduce the loss and pain experienced as a result of accidents.
The Forum is guided by a group of Board Members who are dedicated to raising awareness of road safety issues and educating new and established drivers about safe driving. Many of the members are in one way or another involved in the automotive industry, but membership of Women in Road Safety is open to all women throughout Namibia.
Current service Board Members include: Tuhafeni Shilongo (Chairperson), Hileni Tjivikua, Mona-Liza Garises, Eugenia Jantjies and Lynnette Malipa
